BISP 8171 Program
The Benazir Income Support Program, also known as the BISP 8171 Program, is Pakistan’s largest social safety net, established to provide financial assistance to poor, needy, and deserving households. Its main objective is to eradicate poverty and empower the weaker sections. The program includes the Benazir Kafalat Program, Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, and other welfare initiatives.
Currently, more than 10 million households are receiving financial assistance under the largest program of BISP, Benazir Kafalat, which was 9.3 million in 2024. The good news is that another 700,000 new households have been included in 2025 so that they can also benefit from this assistance system. And recently, the BISP has decided to remove 3.5 million women from the program who do not meet the eligibility criteria or whose financial conditions have improved. And all these 3.5 million women will be replaced by another 3.5 million new women.

Why Should Women Check Their Eligibility?
Since the payments have resumed in the new year 2025, especially in the months of May and June, many women are still unaware whether they are part of the program or not. If they are eligible, has their money been released or not? And if they have been disqualified, is there any way to re-register? Getting answers to all these questions has now become easier than ever.
The Benazir Income Support Program has provided two easy ways for the convenience of women through which they can get their eligibility and payment details from home. Both these methods are completely free and do not require any kind of fee or office visit.
Method 1: Checking eligibility through SMS
If you do not have internet or are not familiar with it, then this method is for you. You just type your CNIC number, i.e., National Identity Card Number, from your registered mobile number and send an SMS to 8171.
After a few moments, you will receive a reply SMS stating:
- Your eligibility status
- Whether the payment has been released or not
- If ineligible, what is the reason?
- This method is specially designed for those who live in rural areas and find it difficult to visit BISP offices.
Second Method: Checking Online through 8171 Web Portal
If you have a mobile phone, computer, or internet facility, then this method is more convenient, faster, and provides complete information. For this, you have to follow the following procedure:
- Open the 8171 web portal on your mobile or computer.
- Two fields will appear on your screen:
- First field: Enter your 13-digit CNIC number.
- Second field: Type the captcha code (which will be given in the image).
- Click on “Submit.”
- Immediately after this, the following details will appear in front of you:
- Are you eligible or not?
- If eligible, has the payment been released or not?
- When will the next installment come?
- If ineligible, what are the possible reasons?
When is the next payment of the Kafalat program starting?
Many women are asking this question as to when the new payments of the Kafalat program are finally going to start. So in this regard, let me tell you all to guide you that at present, BISP is making quarterly installment payments from January to March. And till now, payments have been provided in about 90 percent of the districts. And as soon as all these payments are completed, BISP will start the regular quarterly installment payments from April to June after a gap of a few days.
Let me clarify one thing here that this payment will be given only to those women who are regular beneficiaries of the Benazir Kafalat Program. And all such beneficiaries who are disqualified from the Kafalat Program will not get this payment.
بہت ساری خواتین کی جانب سے یہ سوال کیا جا رہا ہے کہ اخر کار کفالت پروگرام کی نئی ادائیگیاں کب سے شروع ہونے جا رہی ہیں. تو اس حوالے سے میں اپ سب کی رہنمائی کے لئے بتاتا چلوں کہ اس وقت بی ائی ایس پی کی جانب سے جنوری تا مارچ سہماہی قسط کی ادائیگیوں کا سلسلہ جاری ہے. اور اس وقت تک تقریبا 90 فیصد اضلاع کے اندر ادائیگیاں فراہم کی جاچکی ہیں. اور جیسے ہی یہ تمام ادائیگیاں مکمل ہو جائیں گی بی ائی ایس پی کی جانب سے چند دنوں کے وقفے کے بعد اپریل تا جون سہ ماہی قسط کی ادائیگیوں کا سلسلہ باقاعدہ طور پر شروع ہو جائے گا
یہاں پر میں ایک چیز واضح کرتا چلوں کہ یہ ادائیگی صرف اور صرف ان خواتین کو ملے گی جو بے نظیر کفالت پروگرام کی ریگولر بینیفشریز ہونگی. اور ایسی تمام بینیفشریز جنہیں کفالت پروگرام سے نااہل قرار دے دیا جائے گا انہیں یہ ادائیگی نہیں ملے گی

Some important things to remember
If you have been a beneficiary of BISP for more than three years, it is necessary that you complete your new survey in 2025.
If you have not registered or completed the survey yet, you may be disqualified.
Visit your nearest BISP office for registration and bring the following documents:
- ID card
- Children’s B form
- Mobile number
- Electricity bill
